Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to join our team as an Advanced Pharmacist. This is a Band 7 specialist rotational pharmacist position that offers a unique opportunity to work across various specialty rotations within our specialist teams.

About the Role

As an Advanced Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering education and training, as well as gaining experience in directorate work, including management of high-cost medicines, new drug applications, guideline review, and drug expenditure reporting. You will work closely with our senior lead pharmacists to develop clinical pharmacy services and ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the development of clinical pharmacy services in clinical rotational areas
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of medicines
  • Improve the quality of pharmaceutical care to patients
  • Gain knowledge and experience in medical and/or surgical management for common diseases
  • Support and develop pre-registration pharmacists, Band 6 pharmacists, and medicines management pharmacy technicians
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Certificate in Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent relevant postgraduate experience
  • Undertakes continuing professional development (CPD) and maintains a CPD portfolio
