Clinical Specialist Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our pharmacy services.
Job Summary:- Manage and deliver the pharmacy critical care service in the Trust, working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Develop and maintain the web-based hospital formulary, netFormulary, in conjunction with the Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Information.
- Provide training in critical care skills to clinical staff and act as a trainee pharmacist tutor/diploma mentor when requested.
- Coordinate and contribute to writing/checking pharmacy information bulletins and provide a highly specialist service to critical care.
- Advise on drug budget management, lead, develop, and evaluate the clinical pharmacy service provided to critical care.
- Provide regular ward pharmacy commitment and contribute to the development of clinical pharmacy services, including training and implementation of relevant policies and risk management initiatives.
- Support the clinical pharmacy services, dispensary, production, and medicines management programme as requested.
- Lead on/initiate/contribute to relevant practice research or audit projects within the Pharmacy and publish the results of such work, as appropriate.
- MRPharmS or equivalent and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Completion of postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice or equivalent.
- Mandatory Continuing Professional Development to maintain fitness to practice.
- Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
- Critical care experience.
- Ability to manage and supervise staff.
- Leading and implementing change.
- Ability to deal directly with the public, senior clinicians, and other health service and pharmaceutical industry staff.
- Experience of managing or advising on drug expenditure.
- Understanding of Formulary and DUR and clinical trial issues.
- Understanding of risk management with medicines usage process.
- Project Management Experience.
This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months, working full-time hours. The salary is £59,490 to £66,239 per annum, including HCAS.
