Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Residential Support Worker at Hopes Place in Hinckley, Leicestershire. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to children and young people who are facing risks around exploitation.

Main Responsibilities

  • To establish positive relationships with service users, promoting their confidence, independence, and emotional well-being.
  • To collaborate with parents/carers and other professionals to ensure effective communication and cooperation.
  • To contribute to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
  • To adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of vulnerable individuals.

Person Specification

  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within a specified timeframe.
  • A genuine interest in working with children and young people, with a passion for creating positive change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.

Salary and Benefits

  • A competitive salary of £20,000 - £28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing after 5 years' service.
  • The ability to purchase additional annual leave via our HolidayPlus scheme.
  • Membership of the Barnardo's pension scheme, with employer contributions.
