Job Description: Volunteer Coordinator

Jewish Care is seeking an experienced and passionate Volunteer Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers across our East London & Essex Hub.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with our Community Hub Manager, Operations Administrator, and Volunteering Department to ensure that our Centre Coordinators, teams, and services are well-supported and operationally efficient.

This role involves:

  • Identifying volunteer needs and opportunities across the Hub
  • Recruiting volunteers through various networks and organising recruitment events locally
  • Onboarding and enrolling new volunteers
  • Implementing and managing training schedules for all volunteers
  • Providing day-to-day operational support for volunteer management and engagement
  • Maintaining accurate volunteer records
  • Supporting special projects such as supported volunteering, work experience, and student placements
  • Organising 'Thank You' events and recognition during Volunteering Week, and leading on the nomination process for the annual Jewish Care Volunteer Awards event
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant experience in volunteer management, including recruitment, training, and coordination
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Empathy, patience, and a passion for community building
  • Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for communication and record keeping

Salary Estimate: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
