Job Summary

To provide a booking service for all Outpatient referrals, ensuring patients are seen within Trust and Government targets.

Office Based.

Main Duties of the Job

Register referrals and book appointments, cancel and re-schedule as needed.

Make outbound telephone calls and take in-bound calls, providing excellent customer service.

Develop an awareness of Medical terminology to enable effective appointment booking.

Key Responsibilities

Work on own initiative once trained, using initiative in complex situations to meet daily deadlines.

Experience of dealing with customers, preferably in a Call Centre environment.

Self-Motivated, Diplomatic, Calm and positive, Flexible approach to working hours.

Communicate effectively, Work on own initiative, Organised with logical approach to work, Plan and prioritise own workload, Able to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Essential

NVQ Level 2/ ECDL or equivalent.

Experience

Experience of dealing with customers, preferably in a Call Centre environment, Experience of working in a health-related environment, Medical terminology.
