Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Coyle Personnel. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing accurate and value-generating input to projects, working closely with the delivery teams, and ensuring that all commercial aspects are carried out in accordance with the contract, company policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Inputting to the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence.
  2. Preparation and assessment of applications, valuations, cost/value reconciliation.
  3. Cost control and forecasting. Prepare and provide input to monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget.
  4. Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates.
  5. Preparation of project forecasting.
  6. Assisting with Risk and Value Management to optimize solutions. Monitor and regularly review with the project team. Identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  7. Contract Management, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control, and relevant software applications.
  8. Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer, and finalize/close out supply chain contracts.
  9. Ensure all notifications/documents are managed in accordance with the contract, and customer/company policy.
  10. Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors, and Customers' representatives.
  11. Undertake record-keeping, including but not limited to collating site records, the preparation of meeting packs, meeting invites, and taking meeting minutes.
  12. Provide contractual advice to the project/site team as and when appropriate.
  13. Maintaining awareness of the different construction contracts in current use.
  14. Understand the Client and Partners Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations and ensure that the requirements, as applicable within their discipline, are implemented on the project.
Requirements
  1. Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
  2. NEC3 experience.
  3. Demonstrable forecasting experience.
  4. Experience in managing Subcontractors and work packages.
  5. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  6. Practical approach, logical thought process, and a methodical way of working.
  7. A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  8. Experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems, including filing systems and document control and distribution.
  9. Experience of technical minute-taking at contractual meetings and able to demonstrate the ability to collate information and prepare reports.
  10. Experience of drafting contractual correspondence on behalf of the Project Manager and preparation of payment certificates and interim financial reports.
  11. Experience of contributing to procurement and contract strategies.
  12. Negotiating and team-working skills and the ability to motivate and lead.
  13. Strong analytical skills.
  14. Demonstrable legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.
  15. Confidence and ability to assert influence.
  16. Hold an RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent) or enrolled on an accredited part-time post-graduate Degree.
