About the Role

OEC is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for facilitating the procurement of goods and services to be used internationally by the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate the best possible vendor pricing, service guarantees, and terms and conditions in cooperation with business and legal teams.
  • Sourcing and Contract Management: Assist with the sourcing of new vendors and suppliers, and maintain and renew existing services/contracts to ensure we have the best cost for services and that the services or licensing line up with the end user's needs.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain documentations such as agreements or notes within our internal systems, including maintenance and audit requirements.
  • Software and Licensing Management: Work closely with departments to evaluate software and licensing or service needs based on requirements, and evaluate current software and licensing programs or services to eliminate redundancy and control costs.
  • User Access and Licensing: Assist in the set-up and maintenance of user access rights and supports licensing and software assignments in the system, including vendor portals.
  • IT Purchases and Expenses: Evaluate IT purchases and recurring expenses to eliminate duplication and control costs, and work with Finance, Accounting and the Legal departments to assure policies and ISO requirements are met.
  • Compliance and Auditing: Ensure Investment Budget guidelines and purchasing Policy are followed, and keep track of all purchase requisitions via the IT ticketing system to ensure adherence to company policy.
  • Receiving and Payment: Work closely with receiving departments to ensure proper supplies have arrived, and validate and ensure payments working with Accounts Payable team.
Requirements
  • At least 12-18 months of purchasing experience in a technology environment.
  • Vendor management experience; able to build relationships with local and international vendor partners.
  • General understanding and able to review and understand standard legal agreements (Statements of Work, Order Forms or Licensing agreements).
  • Strong communication/written and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Technical aptitude with proficiency in MS Office (including spreadsheet creation and maintenance).
  • Process-oriented with excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and within deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated self-starter; able to learn new skills quickly.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Performs within established ethical standards and business codes of conduct.
  • General accounting understanding and business acumen.
