About the Role

OEC is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for facilitating the procurement of goods and services to be used internationally by the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement and Sourcing
    • Negotiate the best possible vendor pricing, service guarantees, and terms and conditions in collaboration with business and legal teams.
    • Assist with the sourcing of new vendors and suppliers.
    • Maintain and renew existing services/contracts to ensure optimal cost and alignment with end-user needs.
  • Contract Management
    • Maintain documentation, such as agreements and notes, within internal systems, including maintenance and audit requirements.
  • Software and Licensing Management
    • Work closely with departments to evaluate software and licensing needs based on requirements.
    • Evaluate current software and licensing programs or services to eliminate redundancy and control costs.
    • Set up and maintain user access rights and support licensing and software assignments in the system, including vendor portals.
  • Financial Management
    • Evaluate IT purchases and recurring expenses to eliminate duplication and control costs.
    • Work with Finance, Accounting, and Legal departments to ensure policies and ISO requirements are met, including maintenance agreements, licensing, software, and IT equipment purchases.
    • Ensure adherence to company policy and Investment Budget guidelines.
  • Receiving and Payment Management
    • Work closely with receiving departments to ensure proper supplies have arrived.
    • Trace delinquent arrivals from purchase orders and returns.
    • Validate and ensure payments working with Accounts Payable team.
Requirements
  • At least 12 months of purchasing experience in a technology environment.
  • Vendor management experience; able to build relationships with local and international vendor partners.
  • General understanding and ability to review and understand standard legal agreements (Statements of Work, Order Forms, or Licensing agreements).
  • Strong communication/written and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Technical aptitude with proficiency in MS Office (including spreadsheet creation and maintenance).
  • Process-oriented with excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and within deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated self-starter; able to learn new skills quickly.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Performs within established ethical standards and business codes of conduct.
  • General accounting understanding and business acumen.
