Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Pharmacy Department at Broomfield Hospital. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in hospital pharmacy and a strong background in homecare and procurement.

Main Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Procurement Technician will be responsible for reviewing existing contracts and building new contracts and frameworks, updating script templates, managing KPI reports, managing switches to generic medicines, and processing homecare prescriptions. The role will also involve working with the pharmacy procurement team to assist in the day-to-day purchasing of medications for the Trust, contacting suppliers, helping to coordinate medication shortages, running reports as requested, and proactively helping with stock control issues.

This is a fast-paced environment, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to work within the team. The successful candidate will be part of the day-to-day running of the pharmacy procurement department and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic team.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Hospital pharmacy experience
  • Previous experience of working under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Desirable: procurement experience and homecare experience
