Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in hospital pharmacy and a strong background in homecare and procurement.

The ideal candidate will be a registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a proven track record of working under pressure and meeting strict deadlines. They will also have experience in procurement and be able to manage contracts, templates, and reports.

The role will involve working with the pharmacy procurement team to purchase medications for the Trust, managing stock control issues, and coordinating medication shortages. The successful candidate will also participate in the delivery of comprehensive pharmacy services to all areas of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing existing contracts and building new contracts and frameworks
  • Updating script templates and managing KPI reports
  • Managing switches to generic medicines and processing homecare prescriptions
  • Purchasing of medicines, shortage management, invoicing, finance, contract and system management, outsourcing
