About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at HCRG Care Group, based in HMP Prison, Chelmsford.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a crucial role in delivering high-quality pharmacy services to our patients.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work effectively as part of our pharmacy team, providing healthcare services and medication administration to patients.
  • To assist in the delivery of a high-quality pharmacy service, including medicines management and tackling identified inequalities within the prison.
  • To provide pharmacy-related information to patients, prison officers, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that advice is appropriate to need.
  • To undertake autonomous practice and work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • To maintain clear and comprehensive records, both written and electronic.
  • To recognise signs and symptoms of drug and alcohol withdrawal and support patients with substance misuse problems.
  • To communicate effectively with team members, prison staff, and external agencies.
  • To undertake all mandatory and additional training as identified.
  • To use and encourage others to be familiar with security systems within the prison.

Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and develop relationships.
  • Must be confident and capable of autonomous practice.
  • Qualified with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Registered Pharmacist Technician with current General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) membership.
  • All candidates are subject to prison vetting checks.
