We are seeking a skilled Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison in East Sussex. The successful candidate will be part of the clinical leadership team, supporting the development of the psychological therapies service.

Role Overview

This is a fixed-term contract starting in February 2025, with the option to extend to a permanent position. The role offers up to £58,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

About the Job

The mental health team on site is highly experienced and has implemented innovative practices, including AI-assisted therapy sessions and trauma-informed care. As a Clinical/Forensic Psychologist, you will:

  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff as required
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile as appropriate

You will also receive bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, and support from the wider Psychological Therapies team.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have proven post-qualification professional experience in Clinical/Forensic Psychology. You should also have experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients.
