Job Overview:
Austin Fraser is currently seeking a skilled Health Physicist to join their team as a Health Physicist Consultant. As a Health Physicist Consultant, you will provide expert advice on radiological health and safety matters to support Radiological Health and Safety (RPA) teams and health physicists.

About the Role:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Health Physicist to join our client's team as a Health Physicist Consultant. You will be responsible for delivering Radiation Safety training courses to personnel on site, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to work safely in environments where ionising radiation is present. Your duties will also include reviewing internal and external dosimetry data, undertaking radiation risk assessments, and investigating radiological incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support RPA's and health physicists in providing Radiological Health and Safety advice
• Deliver Radiation Safety training courses to personnel on site
• Review internal and external dosimetry data
• Undertake radiation risk assessments
• Investigate Radiological incidents and undertake corrective action

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a degree qualification or equivalent in a scientific discipline and demonstrable knowledge of UK legislations regarding ionising radiation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is also essential. Strong understanding of radiation protection within the nuclear industry is required, and experience in radiation protection instrumentation is desirable. Ideally, applicants should also have knowledge and understanding of instrumentation for nuclear operations such as waste disposal and recycling.

Salary and Benefits:
This is a 12-month contract position paying £29,880 per annum. The salary may be negotiable depending on experience. Other benefits include flexible working hours, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive team environment.
