Job Title: SDR Manager

The SDR Manager will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of Sales Development Representatives at Apprentify in Wilmslow. The role aims to build and manage a team of skilled and productive SDRs, capable of consistently delivering a high volume of quality new business meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership – accountable for the performance and results of the team.
  • Monitor and track KPIs, reporting on progress and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and 1-1s, promoting success and addressing underperformance.
  • Motivate and energize the team to ensure consistent activity levels.
  • Collaborate with the internal trainer to embed sales skills and practices, identifying skill gaps and developing strategies to address them.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle for direct reports, including induction, probation, performance management, and CPD.
  • Demonstrate excellent sales skills, particularly those relevant to an SDR role, to maintain credibility as a leader.
  • Ensure direct reports maintain accurate CRM records in line with company procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve performance using internal sales tools, monitoring usage and providing feedback to the team.
  • Support with the recruitment and selection of SDRs as required.

KPIs:

  • Each SDR's probation is managed effectively, regardless of outcome.
  • SDR team targets are met, including meetings booked, meetings attended, and deals achieved.
  • SDRs are eligible for promotion within 2 years of start date, consistently meeting targets in line with company policy.
  • Demonstrate the company values.

Criteria:

  • At least 2 years of line management experience.
  • Proven success in a junior/intermediate sales role.
  • Desirable: line management experience in a commission-driven role and experience working in a commercial education setting.
  • Thorough understanding of the sales cycle and key sales skills.
  • Good practice performance management processes.
  • Understanding of using a CRM.
  • IT-literate, with ability to produce reports and presentations to a high standard.
  • Strong line management skills.
  • Effective communication with junior and senior colleagues.
  • Ability to manage individual and team performance.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Commercially-minded and professional in conduct and outlook.
  • Collaborative approach with outcomes focus.
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Demonstrates a problem-solving mindset with curiosity.
