Job Description

Job Title: Operational Excellence Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Operational Excellence Manager to join our team at Sja's West. As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will be responsible for managing the operational area and team to contribute to the overall Urgent & Emergency Care Business Plan, ensuring key outputs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Visible Leadership: Provide visible, compassionate leadership, coaching, mentoring, coordination, and general organization of front-line staff.
  • Operational Issue Management: Ensure all operational issues are managed in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.
  • Education and Training: Be trained as an Educator to deliver station/contract-based timely initial and/or remedial education to ensure continuity of services.
  • Forecasting and Planning: Be able to forecast changes in operational requirements and demand, planning and acting accordingly to mitigate these.
  • Operational Performance Improvement: Maintain plans to improve overall operational performance in all Ambulance stations contained within the area of responsibility including but not limited to patient experience, clinical standards, cost control, health and safety, and other relevant KPIs.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Create contract and performance reports, obtaining and interpreting data, drawing themes, and suggesting improvements.
  • Performance Management: Implement a performance management culture in line with SJA policies, ensuring that 1-2-1s, performance and development reviews, and team meetings take place regularly with recorded outcomes and actions.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Actively promote diversity and a variety of perspectives across the organization.

  • Passion for Delivering High-Quality Services: Have a passion for delivering high-quality, well-led, patient-centered ambulance services.
