About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Wakefield CAMHS. As a key member of our Crisis Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively within the MDT, providing consultation for other agencies and professionals
  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with substantial post-qualification experience in working with children, young people, and their carers in a mental health or other complex care setting. You will have clinical/therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health, experience in assessment and risk management, and the ability to implement evidence-based practice.

A relevant professional qualification, such as nursing or a professional allied to medicine, is essential. You will also have a postgraduate qualification in mental health, such as CBT, Family Therapy, or Counselling. A calm, confident, innovative, creative, and assertive approach is required, as well as a willingness to be flexible and adaptable in accordance with changing service priorities.

A current driving license and access to a car during the working day are essential. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability.
