Job Title: Adult Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established Crisis Team within Wakefield CAMHS, providing timely access to specialist services for children and young people in crisis or at risk of harm to themselves or others.

As a Adult Mental Health Practitioner, you will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to young people, including risk assessment and management, and contribute to the prevention of admission to inpatient provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Promote the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
  • Provide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems
  • Work in community settings and provide outreach to those who are difficult to engage
  • Offer clinical supervision to colleagues
Requirements

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Adult Mental Health Practitioner with a strong background in mental health, preferably with experience working with children and young people. You will have excellent clinical and therapeutic knowledge and skills, as well as experience in assessment and risk management.

You will also have a commitment to improving service delivery and developing new ways of supporting children, young people, and families' experiences. A current driving licence and access to a car during the working day are essential.
