Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS team. The successful candidate will provide assessment and treatment to children and young people with mental health needs, working autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and urgent assessment and interventions to young people with a wide range of emotional and psychological problems.
  • Work with the CAPA model to address complex family issues.
  • Apply a sound knowledge of safeguarding children and guidelines in clinical work.
  • Manage own caseload, accessing support and guidance as needed.
  • Participate in the development, audit, and review of service provision.
Requirements
  • Substantial post-qualification experience working with children, young people, and their carers in a mental health or complex care setting.
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working, inter-agency liaison, and consultation.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including the NHS Plan, Mental Health Legislation, and Children's Act.
  • Clinical/therapeutic knowledge and skills in mental health, including assessment and risk management.
  • Proven ability to work with other agencies and disciplines, and in partnership with other organizations.
