Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia's Human Trafficking Unit and Gaming Enforcement Unit are seeking a highly skilled Program Support Technician to assist with research, analysis, and coordination of efforts. This part-time position will work closely with unit supervisors, special agents, and analysts to provide administrative support, develop awareness materials, and monitor law enforcement tips.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, document, and analyze information from open-source locations.
  • Identify trends and patterns associated with collected information.
  • Locate persons/businesses of interest on social media.
  • Develop methods of identification and reports on those methods to the Gaming Enforcement Unit and/or Human Trafficking Unit First Sergeant.
  • Communicate with Virginia State Police analysts regarding findings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding work.
  • Answer the unit telephone line.
  • Manage the email inbox.
  • Obtain information from individuals requesting services from the Gaming Enforcement Unit and/or the Human Trafficking Unit.
  • Develop brochures and awareness materials.
  • Provide administrative support to supervision and special agents.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of data verification and analysis; of filing methods and general office procedures; of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and office practices; and of graphic design for developing brochures and awareness materials.
  • Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret policies and procedures; to collect, analyze, synthesize data, and maintain statistical information; to establish priorities; to work independently and as a member of a team; and to communicate effectively in English orally and in writing.
