Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of engineering governance activities and drive transparency, standardisation, and consistency across the Submarines network and systems.

About the Role

You will play a crucial role in delivering strategic objectives and embracing leadership responsibilities, assisting in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate process performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and manage emerging or existing compliance risks related to Engineering and Quality standards.
  • Support the development of new facilities and capabilities.
  • Assist in the creation and management of a risk-based audit schedule.
  • Support inspections and recertification processes to ensure clear visibility of outcomes across the program.
  • Manage, maintain, and continuously improve the T&FC Operational Framework and Code of Practice.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with a degree-level qualification in a STEM-related subject and proven experience of managing engineering and quality governance activities within a complex software environment.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 is essential.
  • Exposure to Engineering Management Plans/Business Management systems/Operational Frameworks is required.
  • Diverse experience in heavy, highly regulated industries would be beneficial.
