Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team at CV-Library.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Carlisle, Cumbria. We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting technical changes to existing company products and developing solutions to complex technical issues.

As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects and ensure that requirements are met.

  • Lead the development of solutions to technical issues as a member of an integrated project team.
  • Review and check design work and technical reports, providing guidance and direction to less experienced engineers.
  • Conduct technical analysis and investigations, preparing reports with suggested recommendations to support problem resolution and engineering capability improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent experience within an engineering environment.
  • Design experience in production and/or prototyping environments, including finite element analysis (FEA) software and product data management (PDM) tools.
  • Working knowledge of technical office processes, standards, and standard instructions.
  • Experience with the full Product and Engineering Life Cycle.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
