About this role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Service Coordinator/Team Leader. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Management Team, including responsible administrative support in their absence, using your own initiative and working without supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer care, including communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.
  • Coordinate and organise the attendance of patients to outpatient, inpatient & day case appointments in line with local and national Access Policy arrangements.
  • Ensure all administrative processes and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner, following agreed standard operating procedures.
  • Proofread clinical letters and monitor waiting times, ensuring RTT (Referral to Treatment) pathways are accurate and up to date.
  • Book appointments from waiting lists and set up and update Clinics/Theatre Bookings as required.
  • Assist and support other members of the administrative team across the department or division, including dealing with telephone calls and resolving enquiries for patients, their carers and visitors.
