Job Overview

A challenging role awaits an experienced leader to spearhead the HVDC Control & Protection team in Glasgow. As part of Hitachi Energy UK Limited's global network, you will work closely with the UK Head of Engineering to drive innovation and excellence.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of engineers within the HVDC engineering department, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  2. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance business alignment, focusing on safety, timely delivery, quality, and cost reduction.
  3. Collaborate with local and global management to align operational plans, driving continuous improvements and efficiency gains.
  4. Manage the Hardware & IT/OT Management team within HVDC Engineering, ensuring methodical progress reporting and delivery of projects.
  5. Adapt and implement HVDC Control & Protection strategic initiatives to meet business needs, ensuring seamless integration with internal stakeholders and customers.
  6. Promote quality output by developing and documenting work processes, monitoring adherence within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware & IT/OT teams.
About You
  1. You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  2. Strong interest in management techniques, team development, and project management, preferably within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware design or IT/OT deliveries content.
  3. Passion for people and technology, decision-making skills, and self-management abilities to take full responsibility for your scope and deliver results on time in a dynamic environment.
  4. Excellent communication skills, comfortable utilizing digital tools like Teams and O365 suite to effectively communicate with your team and beyond.
  5. An open, curious, and problem-solving mindset, enabling you to improve or replace existing processes, work methods, and tools if necessary.
  6. Ability to understand deadlines, budget constraints, and take responsibility for making decisions for your team when needed.
Benefits and Requirements

As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary in the range of £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
