Job Description

This Technical Leadership Role is available in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom. As a key member of the Hitachi Energy UK Limited team, you will lead the cross-functional HVDC Control & Protection team, collaborating with global management to align on strategic and operational plans.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of engineers within the HVDC engineering team.
  2. Provide direction to the teams with technology, focus on safety, on-time delivery, quality, and margin improvement.
  3. Collaborate with local and global management to ensure alignment on strategic and operational plans.
  4. Manage the overall Hardware & IT/OT Management team within HVDC Engineering, driving continuous improvements and identifying efficiency gains.
  5. Adapt and implement HVDC Control & Protection strategic initiatives to fit your team's needs, achieving business alignment.
  6. Plan team and area composition, individual development, and competences needed to meet business requirements, aligned with internal stakeholders and customers.
  7. Ensure quality output by developing and documenting work processes and monitoring adherence within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware & IT/OT teams.
Requirements
  1. You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical field.
  2. You have a strong interest in management techniques, developing teams, and individuals to unlock their potential, or documented experience in project management, preferably within HVDC Control & Protection Hardware design or IT/OT deliveries content.
  3. As a person, you have a passion for people and technology, are strong in decision-making, and possess the right inner drive and self-management skills to take on full responsibility for your scope and deliver on time in a dynamic environment.
  4. You are communicative, engaged, and comfortable utilizing digital tools like Teams and O365 suite to efficiently communicate with your team and beyond.
  5. You have an open, curious, and problem-solving mindset, enjoying improving or replacing existing processes, work methods, and tools when necessary.
  6. You understand deadlines, budgetary constraints, and have a strong sense of responsibility, making decisions for your team if needed.

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and takes into account the location and required skills.
