Head of People Job Description

The Head of People will provide strategic leadership to the Human Resources department in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will drive initiatives that foster a culture that promotes company values and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR team to drive business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance and employee engagement.
  • Assess training needs and monitor training programs to upskill the workforce.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics and analytics.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management and maintain a culture of integrity.
  • Design and implement company policies and procedures that support business objectives.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to attract top talent.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in human resources with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases, including talent management and performance management tools.
  • Ability to architect strategy and lead cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes.
  • Experience of partnering with a large workforce at an operational and strategic level.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to engage stakeholders and drive results.
  • In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Degree in Human Resources or related field, such as Business Administration or Organizational Development.
