About the Role

Zachary Daniels Recruitment is seeking an experienced Country Buying Manager to lead the strategic buying for our global retail clients in Norway. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to grow our business in the Nordics.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive buying strategy to drive sales and profitability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to curate the optimum assortment for our customers, ensuring alignment with commercial targets.
  • Manage category pricing, including the development of pricing elasticity trials where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating annual deals, payment terms, and marketing spend.
  • Contribute to the annual budget building process, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Provide regular performance reporting to stakeholders, ensuring timely mitigation plans are in place.

About You

  • Strong experience in retail/FMCG purchasing, with a proven track record in strategic buying.
  • Excellent commercial and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good understanding of the Norwegian marketplace, with the ability to navigate complex supplier relationships.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, with the ability to use data to inform business decisions.
  • Persuasive and influential communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
