Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Improvement Specialist to join our team in Tower Hamlets.

This vital role involves working within the school's Isolation Unit, supporting students to reflect on their behaviour, develop positive strategies for improvement, and successfully reintegrate into the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with behavioural difficulties, helping them identify and manage challenges.
  2. Foster restorative conversations to encourage self-reflection and accountability.
  3. Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to create tailored intervention plans.
  4. Promote a calm, structured environment within the Isolation Unit, ensuring students remain engaged with their learning.
  5. Monitor progress and maintain detailed records, providing regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team.
  6. Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships with students.

Requirements:

  1. Experience working with young people, preferably in a school or similar setting.
  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
  3. A compassionate, patient, and non-judgmental approach.
  4. Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and restorative practices.
  5. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  6. Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
