About the Role

Active Recruitment is working with a Mainstream Secondary School in Dagenham to find an experienced Behaviour Mentor. The ideal candidate will have a calm, patient, and caring approach to working with children and be able to develop strategies to manage challenging behaviour.

Job Description

The successful candidate will provide specialist support to pupils in key stage 3 and 4 who are experiencing behaviour and attendance issues. They will report to the school's SENCO/Inclusion Lead and work alongside teachers and support staff to promote effective behaviour management strategies.

  • Develop and use strategies to manage and support pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Establish a 1:1 mentoring relationship with identified students.
  • Drawing up agreed action plans with students outlining the aims of the mentoring.

This role requires the ability to liaise with parents regarding behaviour incidents and offer support and assistance to the Assistant Head. A motivator, role model, and advocate for young people, the successful candidate will also supervise students not in lessons and raise self-esteem and confidence of pupils.

This position is available on a full-time, long-term basis and requires the candidate to commit to improving the behaviour and well-being of students.
