Suffolk GP Federation is seeking a Public Health Specialist to join our Public Health & Diagnostics Team. This role involves delivering training for staff undertaking health checks, updating Standard Operating Procedures, and ensuring the quality of healthcare services provided by our team, community pharmacies, and general practices.

The successful candidate will work closely with the NHS Health Checks Operations Manager to ensure the service is delivered safely and meets quality requirements. They will be responsible for analyzing complex data, providing high-quality care to patients, and maintaining accurate records.

This is a permanent part-time position, requiring 15 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary, estimated at £28,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including cycle-to-work scheme, death-in-service cover, and access to the Blue Light card discount service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of training for staff undertaking health checks
  • Update and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
  • Quality oversight and supervision of HCA's undertaking checks
  • Quality oversight of Pharmacies undertaking checks – through quality measures in subcontract which includes POCT (Point of Care Testing) devices and IQA/EQA arrangements
  • Quality oversight of Practices undertaking checks – through quality measures in subcontract which includes POCT (Point of Care Testing) devices and IQA/EQA arrangements
