We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to assist a young man with partial paralysis in his daily life.



Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing personal care, assisting with meal preparation, household chores, and social activities. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on someone's life and provide essential support.



Key Responsibilities



  • Assisting with personal care, including dressing, bathing, and using toilet facilities

  • Preparing and serving meals, snacks, and drinks

  • Performing general housework, including cleaning, laundry, and tidying

  • Providing companionship and mental stimulation through various activities

  • Driving the service user to appointments, outings, and shopping trips

  • Monitoring and managing medication, as required

  • Keeping records and maintaining relevant notes and information

  • Responding to emergencies in a timely and efficient manner



Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:





  • A flexible approach to shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

  • Respect for individual dignity and privacy

  • A personal car with suitable insurance

  • Reliable attendance and regular communication



Desirable Skills and Qualities

While not essential, it would be beneficial if you possess:





  • Friendly and good-humoured nature



Terms and Conditions

This position offers:





  • A competitive hourly rate of £13 per hour

  • 25 hours per week, with flexible scheduling

  • An annual holiday entitlement equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks

  • Free annual training in areas such as GDPR, Health and Safety, First Aid, and more

  • A satisfactory enhanced DBS check and two satisfactory references



Please note that this position requires a probationary period of three months.
