We are seeking a skilled Paper Purchasing Manager to join our client, a leading publishing powerhouse, in a critical role that involves the sourcing and management of paper for all monochrome printings in the UK.

The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting and ordering paper, driving efficiency and cost savings throughout all aspects of paper management, procurement, and supply. They will also manage a small team, driving their development and efficiency, and share knowledge with internal Production and Inventory Management teams to support their understanding of their roles within the overall paper buying process.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the book paper industry and be a supply chain expert for paper. They will be adept with Excel and data, and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on a key role in our client's production process and contribute to their success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Forecasting and ordering paper for monochrome manufacture and driving efficiency and cost savings throughout all aspects of paper management, procurement, and supply.
  2. Managing a small team, driving forward their development and efficiency.
  3. Sharing knowledge with internal Production and Inventory Management teams, to support their understanding of their roles within the overall paper buying process.
  4. Providing detailed analysis for annual paper tenders.
  5. Researching and sourcing new papers for production requirements in response to specific immediate needs, as well as to improve quality and/or commercial competitiveness.
  6. Working with the Sustainability Production Manager to ensure environmental considerations are adhered to throughout paper management and purchasing.
