ASD Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at a welcoming school in Bournemouth.
As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students with ASD to tailor educational activities and resources to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD to help students understand and complete their work, providing additional explanations and assistance as needed.
- Help foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where all students feel valued and included.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
- Show a deep commitment in helping students with ASD by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
Requirements:
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
- A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
