Job Overview

We are seeking a Primary Network Design Graduate to join our team at National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with distribution licence conditions, designing and developing our 132kV, 66kV, and 33kV distribution network system, and providing technical support and guidance to planners in Network Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Compliance and Development: Ensure NGED remains compliant with applicable distribution licence conditions by implementing short-term and long-term strategic network development.
  • Connection Planning: Build connections into the network development process, taking into account future load-related reinforcements needs.
  • Interface Management: Manage key relationships with the Electricity System Operator (ESO) and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) for network interface issues, including joint strategic network development and managing contractual offer/agreement processes.
Requirements
  • A minimum 2:2 degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences, or Data Sciences.
  • A full valid UK driving license that allows you to drive in the UK.
  • Flexibility to travel within the role and throughout rotations as required.
