The Primary Network Design (PND) unit is a critical part of National Grid Electricity Distribution, responsible for the design and strategic development of the 132kV, 66kV and 33kV distribution network system. We work closely with Electricity System Operator (ESO) and National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) to manage network interface issues and develop joint strategic network plans.

As a member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring NGED remains compliant with applicable Distribution Licence conditions, building connections into the network development, optioneering strategy and optimising solutions to combine with future load-related reinforcements needs, and considering both short-term and long-term network developments.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Sciences or Data Sciences
  • Full valid UK driving license
  • Flexibility to travel within the role and throughout your rotations


This role is based in Tipton, offering flexible hybrid working where possible. A graduate starting salary of £34,895 is offered, along with a tailored development programme, £2,000 bonus, 26 days holiday, £2,400 payment on successful completion of the programme, and various other benefits.
