Job Description

This role involves working closely with clients to assess their needs, provide guidance, and connect them with appropriate resources and activities. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting individuals and their families in navigating social challenges, with a focus on promoting their well-being and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify clients' needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Provide empathetic counselling and emotional support to individuals and families facing various challenges.
  • Facilitate access to community resources, services, and benefits for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior social work staff.
  • Participate in case reviews and team meetings.
  • Stay informed about relevant policies, legislation, and best practices in social work.

Requirements

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • At least 3 years post-qualified experience in social work.
  • Successful completion of the ASYE programme.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid control and restrain training (e.g. PMVA).
