TXM Recruit is seeking a Railway Engineering Professional to join our team at the Craigentinny train depot in Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems on trains, with a focus on scheduled maintenance activities and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have advanced experience in mechanical or electrical and electronics, with a strong understanding of engineering drawings and procedures. They will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team.

The salary for this position is approximately £27.19 per hour, paid either through an umbrella company or PAYE arrangement. Working hours will typically be 40-50 hours per week, with overtime paid at a rate of £37.78 after 40 hours.

The role involves a range of responsibilities, including:

  • Disconnecting underframe equipment such as water tanks, exhausts, and couplers
  • Dismantling and reassembling front end of trains, body panelling, and support frames
  • Carrying out electrical disconnections in preparation for welding activities
  • Understanding engineering drawings and procedures
  • Performing scheduled maintenance activities on rolling stock in accordance with vehicle maintenance instructions
  • Actively participating in ongoing continuous improvement activities for maintenance processes and procedures

We are looking for individuals who hold Level 3 minimum qualifications and have extensive experience of modern maintenance management systems (MMS) and associated reliability and availability trend analysis.
