Job Overview

The Aurora Group is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our specialist team at Meldreth Manor School. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with their learning, development, and progress in all areas of the curriculum
  • Help young people with complex needs to achieve their educational and personal goals
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues and demonstrate the values of The Aurora Group in all aspects of the role
  • Provide high-quality support in all aspects of the role, including physical intervention and personal care routines

Requirements

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Ability to work towards getting formal qualifications and attend training
  • Passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to students' communication needs
  • Ability to work supportively as a team member and confidentially when working independently
