Correctional Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Correctional Nurse, you will provide high-quality nursing care to adult inmates in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to adult inmates, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Administer medications, provide patient education, and perform basic life support/emergency care as needed.
- Document all pertinent information into the health record, maintaining confidentiality and interfacing with other departments as necessary.
- Delegate tasks and workload, working hours, days, and locations as assigned.
- Provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs, promoting evidence-based nursing care and continued competence through education and certification.
- Possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Virginia RN license.
- Hold current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Experience in a correctional setting is preferred.
