Nurse Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality healthcare services to offenders in a correctional institution. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and address the health needs of offenders, including administering medications and providing emergency interventions.
- Develop and implement medical guidelines, maintain accurate records, and provide training to staff and education to offenders on healthy lifestyles.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing program.
- Valid, unrestricted Virginia RN license or a multi-state compact license.
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in corrections or law enforcement environments.
- Experience working with mental health patients.
- Experience in acute care and/or community health settings.
