Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead

About the Role:

Nigel Wright Recruitment is seeking an experienced Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead to join our client, a leading services organisation with a strong social purpose. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the ED&I agenda and lead on the development and delivery of our ED&I strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery and embedding of a future-fit, leading practice aligned and data-driven ED&I strategy, including underlying initiatives, activities, and interventions.
  • Partner with SMEs/Project Leads to inform, shape, and deliver revised people processes and policies to address inequity and meet short and longer-term ED&I goals.
  • Continue and build on the inclusion narrative throughout the business, collaborating with communications to campaign on key issues and provide networks/champions with required collateral, empowering colleagues to create their own stories and drive inclusion in their teams.
  • Ensure that leaders, managers, and colleagues are equipped with learning opportunities to improve their knowledge and performance in respect of the ED&I agenda.
  • Create and sustain a mechanism for ED&I networks and Working Group members, ensuring all members of the Yorkshire Water community have a voice that is heard.
  • Lead ED&I submissions to internal or external surveys, benchmarks, and any reporting, including Investing in Ethnicity, Gender, and Ethnicity Pay Gap Reporting, etc., and subsequent action plans.
  • Work closely with peers across the wider HR team who are leading on Culture & Behaviour Change, Leadership and Behavioural Development, Talent, Succession, and Careers.

About You:

We are looking for a highly experienced subject matter expert in the field of ED&I, up-to-date with current thinking and external debates on ED&I, along with an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Equality Act 2010, and codes of practice.

You will have significant experience in leading out, co-creating, delivering, and embedding ED&I initiatives that facilitate change to policies, procedures, behaviours, and ways of working. You will also possess exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, engagement, and influencing skills, comfortable engaging at all levels across the community, up to Board level, and with regulators, partners, and other stakeholders.

You will be analytical and critical thinking, confident with data analysis, adept at working with data to inform decision making, and able to present evidence in a compelling way. You will also have the courage and social skill to effectively challenge issues of trust, behaviour, and social dynamics.
