Cyber Security Specialist Role Overview
As one of the leading digital insurers in the industry, we are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist to join our team at an exciting time in our development. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about cyber security to start their career and learn from the best.
Main Responsibilities:
- Protecting Our Information Systems: The main purpose of this role is to safeguard esure's information systems and networks from security breaches and cyber threats by responding to security events, conducting improvements, and assessments.
- Monitoring and Analysis: Use security and network tools to identify and categorise incidents, ensuring timely responses to potential threats.
- Threat Intelligence: Stay up-to-date with the latest intelligence on cybersecurity threats, including malware, ransomware, and phishing tactics, to pre-empt potential attacks and maintain a secure environment.
- Runbook and Policy Development: Contribute to developing security policies and runbooks, assisting in regular audits to ensure compliance and maintaining a high level of security within the organisation.
- Collaboration and Training: Work closely with service providers and other departments to ensure network, system, and data security, providing advice and training to staff to raise awareness of information security and promote good security practices.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- A strong passion for cyber security and technology.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
- Solid understanding of the threat landscape, with knowledge of threat actors, TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and threat intelligence sources.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Windows, and Linux operating systems.
- Exposure to at least one programming/scripting language, e.g., Python.
