About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Battery Systems team at WAE. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of an innovative new software product, delivering an exceptional user experience for our ambitious product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an Engineering Lead for the technical onboarding of new customers, working closely with Key Account Managers.
  • Interact with existing and prospective customers, listen to their requirements, and develop Proof of Concepts and Demos.
  • Drive and take ownership of end-to-end technical delivery for customer onboarding, identifying and resolving issues and risks.
  • Design and implement data ingestion pipelines, ETL, and normalization using existing tools and/or custom implementations.
  • Conduct data quality reviews and validate customer datasets through existing algorithms and analytics functions, identifying gaps in data quality and developing workarounds or escalating to the appropriate development teams.
  • Identify customer-specific onboarding requirements and develop custom solutions or escalate to the appropriate development teams, acting as the technical lead for custom implementations.
  • Support account managers in delivering specialized customer-specific technical support and training, not otherwise covered through standardized training and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to prioritize, define, and evolve product vision based on customer feedback and interactions, serving as the voice of the customer from a technical perspective.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Experience in data fields, with a strong background in data science, particularly using time-series data.
  • Knowledge of modern data pipeline architecture and cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, with a preference for AWS.
  • Solid understanding and experience of cloud, data, ingress/egress APIs, and large-scale migration, with hands-on experience with data pipelines and data normalization.
  • Experience developing and deploying software in cloud platforms, particularly AWS, with expertise in Lambda, S3, ECS, and other relevant services.
  • Strong experience in ETL tools and their application to both batch and streaming data, including Athena, Glue, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Spark, and Hadoop.
  • Deep experience with Python for data science applications, including best practices in code review, unit testing, version control, and CI/CD frameworks.
  • Ability to think broadly and adopt/adapt technology or understanding from other fields to create future business opportunities and communicate their potential to peers.
  • Focused on improving process, people, and use of technology.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience in the battery domain.
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink.
