The Role

We are seeking an experienced Aero Performance Engineer to join our team in the Aero department. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and analysing tests from Track, Wind Tunnel, CFD as well as our driver in the loop simulation to drive forward the correlation and performance methodologies in the Aero department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis of the correlation between Wind Tunnel and track data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Development of methodologies to improve the accuracy of Wind Tunnel testing.
  • Collaboration with the CFD group to improve simulation accuracy and reduce correlation deficiencies.
  • Design and implementation of new instrumentation capability for the department.
  • Contribution to the improvement and development of our data analysis toolset for aero performance data.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of race car vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics.
  • Experience analysing aerodynamic performance and correlation data.
  • Familiarity with scientific coding languages and ability to develop own data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Degree in Aerodynamics, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
