About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Aero Performance Engineer to join our team at Williams. As a key member of our Aero department, you will play a crucial role in defining and analysing tests to drive forward the correlation and performance methodologies in the Aero department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse the correlation between Wind Tunnel and track data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and analyse driver in the loop simulations to understand how aero performance sensitivities affect lap time.
  • Collaborate with the CFD group to improve simulation accuracy and reduce correlation deficiencies.
  • Contribute to R&D projects to deliver new instrumentation capability for the department.
  • Develop and improve data analysis toolsets for aero performance data in collaboration with dedicated software engineers.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of race car vehicle dynamics and a passion for optimising on-track performance.
  • Experience analysing aerodynamic performance and correlation data.
  • Familiarity with scientific coding languages and ability to develop own data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex analysis in a concise manner.
  • Degree in Aerodynamics, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
