The Role

We are seeking an experienced Aero Performance Engineer to join our team in the Aero department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and analysing tests from Track, Wind Tunnel, CFD, and driver in the loop simulation to drive forward the correlation and performance methodologies in the Aero department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis of the correlation between Wind Tunnel and track data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the Wind Tunnel's accuracy.
  • Collaboration with the CFD group to improve simulation accuracy and develop new instrumentation capabilities for the department.
  • Development of data analysis tools and techniques to support the Aero department's performance optimisation efforts.
  • Contribution to the improvement and development of our data analysis toolset for aero performance data, working closely with dedicated software engineers.
  • Analysis of aerodynamic performance and correlation data to inform design and development decisions.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of race car vehicle dynamics and a passion for optimising on-track performance.
  • Experience analysing aerodynamic performance and correlation data.
  • Familiarity with scientific coding languages and ability to develop own data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present complex analysis in a concise manner.
  • Degree in Aerodynamics, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
