Job Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Battery Systems Department as a Test Support Specialist. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the delivery of our battery test and sign-off activities across all electrification programs at WAE.

Key Responsibilities
  • Owning and Maintaining Test Procedure Documentation
    • This includes Battery Module and Pack level electrical test activity
    • This is focused on supporting Design Verification (DV) and End-of-Life (EoL) test activity
  • Engaging with Relevant Engineering Teams
  • Determining Test Requirements and Assisting with Test Setup and Running of Test Activity
  • Identifying Issues During Testing and Helping to Resolve
  • Reviewing Test Data and Using Automated Scripts to Create Reports
  • Collating All Data/Reports and Maintaining Tracker Documentation
  • Identifying Issues with Results and Reporting to Relevant Teams
  • Determining Limitations to Test Procedures/Activities and Looking for Continuous Improvement Opportunities
  • Staying Up-to-Date with State-of-the-Art Cell Technology
  • Working in Line with WAE Health and Safety (HaV) Procedures of Work
  • Identifying Test Equipment Needs and Maintaining Existing Equipment
  • Engaging with Stakeholders at All Levels of WAE as Required
  • Representing WAE Externally at External Test House Locations
Requirements
  • A relevant qualification in Electrical or Automotive Engineering with relevant work experience
  • A hands-on engineering approach
  • Knowledge of key battery technologies
  • Experience in setting up and supporting battery test activity
  • Some level of experience in battery data analysis using tools such as MATLAB, CANalyser, Atlas, or equivalent
  • Experience diagnosing issues during the running of test activity and implementing solutions
  • General familiarity with HV battery systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ideally, a driver's license for supporting test activity at multiple locations
