We're seeking a talented Senior Engineer - Battery Performance to join our Battery Performance Team and contribute to the development of world-class battery systems for high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advance battery system performance and safety through cutting-edge research and development.
  • Generate data, design input, and validation for WAE's battery systems through testing, analysis, modeling, and simulations.
  • Conceptualize battery packs from system-level requirements, including cell selection and pack sizing activities.
  • Determine battery performance capabilities, limitations, and improvement opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cell technology and support relationships with cell suppliers.
  • Represent WAE externally as a technical expert for project delivery and business development purposes.
  • Engage with stakeholders at all levels of WAE and external organizations.
Requirements:
  • Engineering qualification (Bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM subject or equivalent) and relevant industry/academic experience.
  • Knowledge of battery cell technology.
  • Experience in battery pack sizing and performance simulations.
  • Experience in battery data analysis in MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with HV battery systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work inter and intra departmentally and build working relationships across the business.
