Data Engineering Lead for Battery Systems

Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) is dedicated to accelerating technological advancements in various industries, particularly focusing on electric and sustainable solutions. We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our innovative Battery Systems team.

As a key member of this dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge software products that deliver exceptional user experiences. Your expertise in data engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of battery technology.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical onboarding process for new customers, collaborating closely with Key Account Managers to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Engage with existing and prospective clients, understanding their requirements and developing Proof of Concepts and Demos to showcase our capabilities.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end technical delivery for customer onboarding, identifying and resolving any issues or risks that may arise.
  • Design and implement data ingestion pipelines, ETL processes, and data normalization strategies using existing tools or developing custom solutions.
  • Conduct rigorous data quality reviews and validate customer datasets through established algorithms and analytics functions. Identify areas for improvement and collaborate with customers to enhance data quality.
  • Analyze customer-specific onboarding needs and develop tailored solutions or escalate requirements to the appropriate development teams. Serve as the technical lead for custom implementations.
  • Provide specialized technical support and training to account managers, addressing customer inquiries beyond standard documentation and training materials.
  • Collaborate closely with product development teams to prioritize features, define product vision, and incorporate valuable customer feedback.
Your Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • Proven experience in data engineering and data science, particularly with time-series data.
  • Solid understanding of modern data pipeline architecture and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of Cloud, Data APIs, Large-Scale Migration, and hands-on experience with data pipelines and data normalization.
  • Experience developing and deploying software in cloud environments, particularly AWS (Lambda, S3, ECS, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in ETL tools such as Athena/Glue, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Apache Airflow, Spark/Hadoop, etc.
  • Deep expertise in Python for data science applications, adhering to best practices (code review, unit testing, version control, and CI/CD frameworks).
  • A flexible and proactive mindset with a passion for driving innovation and making a tangible impact.
