We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Composite Design Engineer to join our Suspension, Steering and Brakes Design group at Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Undertake and guide a range of designs from initial concepts through to prototype production, ensuring compliance with structural requirements, packaging, aerodynamics, and composite manufacturing techniques.
- Design Reviews: Conduct independent or collaborative design reviews with Group Principal Engineer/Head of Department to ensure design excellence.
- Project Ownership: End-to-end ownership for projects incorporating manufacture, build, testing, and racing, including fault analysis and resolution.
- Design Checking: Support checking responsibility for detailed drawings, including design review against specification and previous designs.
- Education and Experience: Relevant degree or equivalent qualification supported by design experience in motorsport, aerospace, or a related field.
- Composites Knowledge: Understanding of composites stress analysis for preliminary sizing.
- CAD Skills: Strong CAD skills, ideally with experience of NX; however, training will be provided for conversion from other CAD systems.
- Leadership: Ability to own and lead projects in their area of expertise.
- Passion for Engineering: Passion for engineering, innovation, and detailed design work.
