Job Summary

Tameside Council is seeking a highly experienced social work professional to lead the development of our newly qualified social workers through the Social Work Academy. As the Head of Social Work Academy, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a comprehensive training program that aligns with the needs of our workforce and supports the improvement of practice across the service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned social work leader to join our team and contribute to the development of our social work workforce. As the Head of Social Work Academy, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and delivering a 36-month training program for newly qualified social workers
  • Providing targeted support to social workers to improve their practice and skills
  • Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and partners to support the improvement of the service
  • Analyzing the needs of the service and planning and providing support to meet those needs
